FAQs

Is this a legal arrangement?

No. This is not a legal or binding arrangement.
Furever Aftercare simply records your preference and ensures your nominated guardian is aware.

What happens if something happens to me?

If you’re no longer able to care for your pet, your nominated guardian will already know they are your preferred person and can access any care instructions you’ve provided. If they contact us, we can help guide them.

Does my nominated guardian have to accept?

No. Your nomination is a preference, not an obligation. It’s important to choose someone you trust and have already spoken to.

Will this override my will or family decisions?

No. This does not override a will or legal process.
It simply helps make your wishes clear and reduces uncertainty.

How is my guardian notified?

We send a one-time email to your nominated guardian letting them know they’ve been selected and providing basic context.

How are you notified if something happens to me?

We are not automatically notified. If something happens, your guardian, family, or someone close to you would contact us.

What happens if my guardian can’t take my pet?

We do not arrange rehoming directly. However, we can provide guidance and support to help find a suitable outcome.

Can I update my details later?

Yes. You can contact us at any time to update your information or make changes.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Your information is stored securely and is not publicly shared.
We only use it to provide this service.

Why is this free?

The service is free to use. In the future, we plan to introduce optional paid features that provide additional support and services.

Do I need to use this if I already have a will?

Even with a will, this can still be useful. It helps ensure your chosen person is aware and prepared, rather than leaving things unclear. It can also assist in the event of incapacitation.
